Lucknow Fire Tragedy Claims 15 Lives; High-Level Probe Ordered

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: At least 15 people, most of them students, lost their lives in a tragic fire incident in the Aliganj area of Lucknow on Friday afternoon. The fire reportedly broke out at an animation coaching centre operating inside a commercial complex, leading to panic and heavy casualties.

Several injured persons were rushed to nearby hospitals, where they are receiving treatment.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the incident and announced that a high-level committee comprising the Director General of Police (DGP) and the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) would investigate the cause of the fire. He said that those found responsible for any negligence would face strict action.

Leaders across the country expressed condolences to the families of the victims. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex gratia payment of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the next of kin of each deceased victim. The injured will receive financial assistance of ₹50,000 each.

The tragic incident has once again raised concerns about fire safety standards and emergency preparedness in commercial and educational establishments.
